Freedom 251 is happening, first batch ships on June 30

The Freedom 251, the under-$4 smartphone, was unveiled last February as the cheapest smartphone in the world priced at INR 251. It gained big momentum, but then suspicions began to pile up.
The fiasco began with swapping the beautiful picture of the device with a more accurate (and less flattering) one. And it was all OK, you know, it costs $4. But then the first prototypes sent to the media were some poorly masked Adcom phones that normally sell on the Indian market for about $50. And finally, all of the Android icons were absolutely identical with Apple's iOS ones.

Ringing Bells fought to keep the media smear out of the brand, but eventually it came under investigation by the Indian government, which was falsely introduced as a participating party in the Freedom 251 development.
All ended with the investigation and Ringing Bells' promise of fulfilling all pre-orders.
And here we are today, four months later, on the verge of seeing the first batch hit the market. The company announced it will begin shipping the Freedom 251 on June 30. It claims has north of 200,000 units ready and waiting.
Last we heard, Ringing Bells found some developers to help lower the cost of the phone by preloading their software ("government related bloatware" was mentioned, whatever that is). Even with that extra funding, the company was falling INR 150 short of their targeted INR 251 price and hoped for help from the government. We don't know if they got it, though.
Anyway, if you have doubts whether the Freedom 251 exists, maybe these live pictures will help. The 4" $4 phone with a 4-core processor was caught in the wild and is indeed real. The rest of its specs include 8GB expandable storage, 1GB of RAM, a 3.2MP main camera with LED flash, a VGA front snapper, a 1,450 mAh batter and Android Lollipop.

Also, Ringing Bells ditched the iOS icons in favor of Android-themed ones.
June 30 is almost here, so we'll know if Ringing Bells succeeds in making the world's cheapest smartphone against all odds.

Sepp, some cash for Korea in 2026

Zurich, July 20: Fifa president Sepp Blatter was showered with fake bank notes by a notorious prankster at a media conference in his Zurich headquarters.
The comedian Lee Nelson, real name Simon Brodkin, managed to infiltrate the media conference, which was being held to announce reforms planned to world football's governing body, and a date for the presidential election.
He stepped forward to the dais where Blatter was sitting and tried to present him with a wad of bank notes.
Nelson said, " Sepp, this is for North Korea in 2026" before Blatter summoned security guards to intervene.
As Nelson was being led away, he threw the notes in the air, which fell around a visibly furious Blatter before he got up and walked out of the room.
Nelson then issued a parting shot at Blatter, saying: " Cheers, Sepp, it's all there." The media conference was delayed as organisers cleaned up the notes.
Nelson is a renowned stage invader. At this year's Glastonbury Festival, the prankster ran onto the Pyramid Stage during Kanye West's headlining set and started leaping around and rapping along withthe star, who stopped singing to beckon security.
A guard promptly tackled Nelson off the stage.
In June 2014, Nelson made headlines when he attempted to join the England World Cup squad as they flew from Luton Airport to Miami for the start of their training camp.
Earlier, Fifa had announced it would hold a special congress to elect Blatter's successor on February 26 next year, meaning he is set to remain in power for another seven months.
An extraordinary meeting of Fifa's executive committee decided on the date of the election despite Uefa members having pushed for an earlier date.
Candidates for the position will have to be nominated before October 26. Uefa president Michel Platini has emerged as the favourite after being urged to run by four of the six Fifa confederations.
Platini has yet to make a final decision but sources say Asia has swung behind Europe, South America and Concacaf in supporting the Frenchman to succeed Blatter.
Platini held talks in Zurich on Sunday night with Asian Football Confederation ( AFC) president Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, and as significantly, with Kuwait's Fifa executive member Sheikh Ahmed Al Sabah of Kuwait.
If Blatter does stay in power until February 26 -- several Fifa figures including Platini and England's David Gill want him to quit as soon as possible — it means he will have worked at Fifa for 40 years

Why shouldn’t boys have all the fun!
Giving us the answer are Anmol Garg and Vinay Chavan decided to capitalise on the faithful relationship men share with their barbers to launch a premium grooming platform for men called Flying Barber.

Flying Barber Founders (L to R) Anmol Garg and Vinay Chavan
Last September, Anmol, who was MCing corporate events back then, had a hair-raising experience. Seeking a haircut before a major event he landed at a barber’s shop in Bengaluru, only to wait around for an hour and leave with a ruined crop of hair.
Shaken after the experience, Anmol, longed for a platform where his hair would never have to play victim to the shears of a bad hairdresser again.
He started discussing the idea with his friends and stumbled upon Vinay, who was facing a far greater problem than Anmol. After shifting his home, Vinay had to travel close to 45 minutes just to visit his barber for a regular haircut. The duo divined that, clearly, men’s loyalty to their barber cannot be questioned.
Anmol and Vinay’s friendship goes back to 2011, where the two met at Toastmasters, an organization helping members with their communication and public speaking. Equally enthused by the idea, the duo went about learning the tricks and trade of setting up a men’s grooming platform.
Being equally immersed in the idea, the duo started off, exactly a week after the inception of idea. On asking them, whether they thought of it as an impulsive or hasty decision, Anmol replies
Not really. It was just an idea.  We didn’t think of it as a business then.
But to learn the tricks (rather snipes) of the trade, the founders had to experiment. And Anmol chose no better turf than his own apartment society where he gave haircuts for free.
Flying what?
Soon enough, Anmol and Vinay set up the plaform, which allows men to get haircuts at the comforts of their own home, at any desired time of the day.
Other services include hair spa, head massage, hair colouring, facials, pedicures and manicures followed by styling consultations.

Syed Mohammed handles operations for Flying Barber
They see peak demands during early mornings (8-9 AM) and late evenings (7-8 PM) during weekdays, while being completely booked during weekends. The startup claims to be a round-the-clock platform, having facilitated haircuts as early as 6 AM and as late as 10 PM.
Currently only in Bengaluru, Flying Barber is catering to Indiranagar, Koramangala, Marathali and Sarjarpur. However, the firm plans to open operations in other major metropolitans before the end of next year.
Their five in-house stylists have completed 1,450 transactions (haircuts), having a base of 820 loyal customers and witnessing a repeat rate of 40 percent.
They say,
We are careful about loyalty to the brand. So, it’s not about a particular hairstylist but about each hairstylist giving the same quality experience. Similarly, we are not a marketplace yet, since we want to control the quality experiences for our consumers.
They also take up corporate bookings for companies like InMobi , on-ground activations, stalls, and have participated in college fests. Flying Barber is the official hairstylists for the Bengaluru-based band Agnee.
Flying Barber’s information platform provides styling tips through blogs and catalogues. They have partnered with a men’s grooming line for this.
The average price for a haircut at Flying Barber is Rs 350, which is also their average ticket size, with requests coming from all age groups, including young boys and senior citizens. Majorly 35 year olds are subscribing to the service, owing to the residential localities the service is functional in. However, the service is also catering to young children (age 5) and senior citizens (above 60).
Something that works in favour of the startup is its ability to recreate the age-old practice of having the family barber co

Never 10 Prevents Windows 7, 8.1 PCs From Upgrading to Windows 10

Plenty of people, including us, like Windows 10. It's a substantial upgrade over Windows 8.1, giving users a plethora of improvements and features. We aren't, however, a big fan of how Microsoft is pushing this upgrade to some people. Ten months since Windows 10's release, users on Windows 7, and Windows 8.1 continue to report incidents about Microsoft forcefully downloading and upgrading their computer to Windows 10. You can stop the company from doing that with a new tool.

Well known software developer Steve Gibson has released a new tool called Never 10, which according to claims, allows a user to completely disable automatic updates. "The elegance of this "Never 10' utility is that it does not install ANY software of its own. It simply and quickly performs the required system editing for its user," says Gibson on his page about the new utility.

"Using this utility, inexperienced users will be able to easily use Never 10 themselves, while advanced users will likely appreciate that fact that no additional software is installed and will be able to refer friends and family, whom they support, to this easy-to-use utility," Gibson notes.

All a user is required to do is install this free application, and run it. This should come as a big relief to many Windows 7 users who're afraid that one day they will accidentally click on a prompt and Microsoft will upgrade their computer to Windows 10.

Microsoft has made Windows 10 available as a free update to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users - provided they have the genuine licensed copy. Last year, the company gave users with the ability to reserve their copy of Windows 10 when it becomes available on July 29. But later, the company also began downloading the Windows 10 installation files on different systems, and many users accidentally clicked on update prompts, ending up getting Windows 10 on their system.

BlackBerry Will Launch 2 Mid-Range Android Smartphones This Year: CEO

BlackBerry, after launching its high-end Android smartphone Priv, is said to be focusing on the mid-range segment this year. The company CEO John Chen in an interview said the Canadian smartphone maker will be launching two new mid-range Android smartphones this year, but did not reveal the exact time-frame of launch.

It is worth mentioning that Chen had in the past also hinted that the company will launch mid-range Android smartphones this year. Speaking to The National website, Chen added that out of the two smartphones, one will be full touchscreen while the other one will featuring a physical Qwerty keyboard. Nothing else was mentioned about the handsets. He additionally said the prices of the two smartphones will be around $300-400 (roughly Rs. 20,000 - Rs. 26,600).

Chen also admitted that the Android-based Priv smartphone "was too high-end a product" for enterprise customers. The company as a result slashed the price of the handset earlier this week. The slider Android smartphone will now retail at $649 (approximately Rs. 43,000), down $50 (roughly Rs. 3,300) from the launch price of $699. We can expect the Canadian company to make a similar announcement for the Indian market, where the Priv is also sold.

In the meanwhile, the BlackBerry Priv in India is still retailing at Rs. 62,990 via Amazon and offline retail stores.

To recall, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based BlackBerry Priv features a 5.4-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) Amoled display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor (1.8GHz dual-core Cortex-A57, and 1.44GHz quad-core Cortex-A53) clubbed with 3GB of RAM; 32GB of expandable storage; 18-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel front-camera, and 3410mAh battery.

Motorola Moto X3 With Fingerprint Scanner Purportedly Spotted in the Wild

Lenovo's upcoming Moto X-series smartphone, believed to launch as Moto X3, is claimed to have been spotted in a new image.
The new leaked image is said to have been taken when the unannounced handset was being used by a commuter. Originally shared by hellomotoHK, the leaked image may have "possibly" given us first glimpse of the next-generation Moto X smartphone.

The new leaked image shows the front panel of an alleged Moto X3 featuring a fingerprint scanner right below the display. Currently, it's not clear whether the fingerprint scanner is a standalone sensor or if it is integrated into the home button, just like Samsung's Galaxy handsets.

Further, the leaked Moto handset is seen featuring the iconic Motorola logo "M" on top of the screen and is also rumoured to sport a USB Type-C port. The new leaked image of the alleged Moto X3 also gives us a rough idea about the size of the handset, pegging it as a larger phone than previous Moto X smartphones.

The leaked image ties-up with an earlier report that said Motorola may finally add a fingerprint scanner to its fourth generation Moto X smartphone which will debut in 2016. A Lenovo executive had earlier this year confirmed that all Motorola smartphones launching in 2016 would feature a fingerprint scanner.

Considering Motorola or Lenovo has not mentioned anything about the upcoming device, the legitimacy of the leaked remains questionable and readers are requested to take it with a pinch of salt.

A recent Zauba, import and export tracking site, listing had tipped that the anticipated Motorola Moto X3 smartphone was shipped to India. The listing further suggested that the Moto X3 may feature a 5-inch display and support single-SIM.

UK's David Cameron Urges Young Britons To Vote Against Brexit

British Prime Minister David Cameron will urge young Britons today to make sure they vote in a June 23 referendum on membership of the European Union, warning that leaving the bloc would hit youth voters hardest.
With overall public opinion evenly split, youth voters are expected to play an important role in the referendum outcome because polling shows they are generally more pro-European, but less inclined to vote.
Cameron, who wants Britain to stay in the 28-country bloc, will speak at the launch of a campaign targeted specifically at young voters.
"Get out there. Register. Vote. Tell your parents, grandparents, friends and colleagues: this referendum will really help determine whether your generation is stronger, safer and better off," he will say according to extracts of his speech.
Cameron will argue that young people's job prospects would be disproportionately affected by the economic impact of an EU exit.
"Who gets hit hardest by those shocks? Young people," he will say.
The rival "Out" campaign dismissed that claim, saying that money sent to Brussels under Britain's membership terms was adding to the national debt that would have to be paid off by young workers.
"The best thing we could do for current and future generations is to take back control and spend our money on our priorities," said Tom Harwood, Chairman of Students for Britain.

Displaced anger erupts in Bokaro

The festering issue of jobs for the displaced reared its ugly head at Bokaro on Wednesday as descendants of land-losers of the steel plant set up in the 1960s beat up a senior employee and breached the canal that gives water to the PSU giant, which in turn supplies water to lakhs of people in Bokaro and Chas.
Descendants of the displaced, who have prepared a list of 25,000 names they claim are eligible for jobs in Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL), are demanding immediate employment for 20,000. However, the management of the plant, set up on 37,000 acres, which was supposed to give jobs to 6,000 land-losers according to an original estimate, has over the decades given jobs to more than 14,000.
Though the management said it wanted negotiations, on Wednesday, some 1,000 agitators, including women, did not allow that to happen, when they turned up at Tupkadih, 12km from the city, armed with sticks, spears, bows-and-arrows and axes.
While agitators chanted slogans demanding the release of their leader, Gulab Chand, arrested by Sector IX police on Tuesday evening for taking out a rally for jobs, things took an ugly turn when some women protesters got up and charged towards a BSL senior employee and started abusing and slapping him.
As the policemen on duty at the site watched silently, the women slapped a horrified M.P. Baxi, the AGM of the personnel department, who had been sent by his bosses to broker talks with protesters.
When a few male protesters joined in, the police, including DSPs Ajay Kumar and Sunil Kumar, hurriedly escorted the BSL official to a jeep.
But, by then, tempers had flared up. Among agitators, scores of youths divided themselves into groups and attacked the 34km-long canal, owned by state water resource department, which takes Rs 48 lakh a year from BSL to maintain it. As the canal was breached at four points, gallons of water spilled to nearby fields while the number of protesters swelled to prevent repairs.
They also raised provocative slogans saying if the displaced didn't get jobs, they would "chop off the heads of BSL officials". Chand, brought to the site by the police for talks with BSL, was equally unrepentant. "Till we get jobs, our guerrilla war will go on," he said.
Calling the assault on Baxi "unacceptable and untenable", BSL executive director Atul Srivastav also refused to have talks. When Chas SDO Manju Swansi requested the BSL director for talks, he refused saying when officials are attacked what was the point.
Till the time the report was filed, thousands of agitators are standing vigil near the canal, preventing Tenughat engineers from undertaking repairs. Over a 100 people, including Chand, were taken into custody at camp jail in Sector IV.
If protesters don't allow the canal's immediate repair, Bokaro steel city, already facing water rationing - two-hour supply in 24 hours - will stare at a major crisis. BSL receives 18,000 cubic feet water per hour from the canal.
BSL chief of communications Sanjay Tewary has condemned Wednesday's attacks.

At The Age Of 7, This Kid Is The Youngest Surgeon In The World

Akrit Jaswal performed surgery on 19th November 2000 at the age of 7 and became the youngest surgeon in the world. He was born in Nurrpur, Himachal Pradesh.

Akrit developed a passion for science and anatomy at an early age. Doctors at local hospitals took notice and started allowing him to observe surgeries when he was seven years old.

An impoverished family unable to pay for regular healthcare heard about his amazing abilities and asked if he would operate on their daughter. Fifty shades darker is going to be released in year 2017

Fifty Shades Darker is a 2012 erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James. It is the second installment in the Fifty Shades trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. The first and third volumes, Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Freed, were published in 2011 and 2012. The novel is published byVintage Books and reached #1 on theUSA Today best seller list.

Plot

Three days since leaving Christian, Anastasia "Ana" Steele has begun her job at Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP), where she has been hired as personal assistant to editor Jack Hyde. Ana gets an uneasy feeling about him as he continually asks her out, but writes it off. Christian emails her to see if she needs a ride to her friend Jose Rodriguez's gallery exhibit in Portland, which she had forgotten about until Christian emailed her. The pair attend the show together and reconcile their relationship by kissing in an alley and visiting a restaurant together. Christian buys José's portraits of Ana for selfish reasons, one of which is to prevent random people from buying them and displaying them in their homes, and the second is for his own amusement.
Christian reveals to Ana that he has bought SIP, but the deal must stay secret for another month. Ana is furious that Christian is interfering in her career, especially after he freezes the company's accounts so that she cannot go on an overnight business trip to New York with Jack. Christian insists that it was for her own protection, because Jack is a "known philanderer", as he apparently harassed his last five assistants. Their suspicions about Jack prove correct when he corners Ana after hours and blackmails her, demanding sexual favors. Ana's self-defense training allows her to escape. Christian has Jack fired and confiscates his work computer.
While attending a masquerade ball at Dr. and Mr. Grey's residence, Ana meets Elena Lincoln (whom Ana nicknames Mrs. Robinson) for the first time and finds out that Elena and Christian own a salon business together. Later, Ana is auctioned off and Christian bids $100,000 for the first dance with her. Ana is disgusted that Christian continues to be friends with the woman who seduced him when he was only 15 years old, and initially introduced him to the BDSM lifestyle. When Elena realizes that Christian sees Ana as a girlfriend and not a submissive, she becomes antagonistic towards Ana, trying to sow discord in the budding relationship.
Ana is being stalked at work by a disturbed Leila Williams, one of Christian's former submissives. Ana's fear intensifies when she discovers that Leila has a gun. It is revealed Leila's obsession began after her lover died in a car crash four months before, leading to a mental breakdown. Leila breaks into Ana's apartment and threatens her at gunpoint. Christian defuses the situation by utilizing their dominant/submissive dynamic, but this leaves Ana worried that Christian cannot be satisfied with a vanilla relationship. Ana confronts Christian about Leila. Fearing she is leaving him again, he impulsively proposes, but Ana needs time to consider it.
José drives to Seattle to visit Ana. Christian still views José as a romantic rival, and only permits Ana to see him if they both stay at Escala. Ana becomes worried on the night before Christian's 28th birthday when he goes missing while flying from Portland to Seattle in his helicopter with Ros Bailey. However, he eventually makes it back to Escala safely, and explains that both helicopter's engines failed; sabotage is suspected. Ana realizes she never wants to be without him and accepts his marriage proposal.
The next day, the Grey family throws Christian a large birthday party at their mansion. Kate worries about Ana after finding an email between Ana and Christian, discussing the BDSM Contract. Ana assures Kate that her relationship with Christian is a vanilla one. After Christian and Ana announce their engagement, Elena angrily confronts Ana, accusing her of being a "gold-digger", and claims a vanilla relationship will never satisfy Christian. Grace Grey, Christian's adoptive mother, overhears the argument and is furious that Elena preyed on her teenage son. Elena leaves in disgrace and Christian decides to end their business relationship.
Christian takes Ana to the boathouse, which is decorated with flowers and soft lights. He proposes properly with a ring and Ana accepts. Outside the Grey's mansion, Jack Hyde is secretly watching the party; he reveals that he sabotaged Christian's helicopter and swears revenge.

Dr Ram Narain, director of Kokilaben Hospital, confirmed the death on Friday (April 1).
According to police sources, Banerjee had called up a close friend from the television industry earlier this week and revealed that she had taken to alcohol as she was depressed. The actress was reportedly dejected with the lack of good roles.

Apple iPhone SE and iPad Pro released globally, India launch on April 8

The iPhone SE and iPad Pro have gone on sale, with Apple hoping that the two new devices help address worries about the growth of the iPhone.
The new devices come at a difficult time for the company's iPhone business. While it continues to sell more of the handset than ever before, some have suggested that Apple's growth may falter in coming years.
The company's new iPhone SE looks set to be part of Apple's response to that. At the phone's launch earlier this month, it said explicitly that it was releasing the phone to try and bring more people to iOS from Android, and to encourage people who prefer the smaller size of the iPhone 5 and 5s to upgrade to newer technology.
Bringing new customers to the iPhone will be important to satisfy the worries of some analysts and competitors, who argue that Apple might have reached "peak iPhone" and that the company's most famous product's huge growth might slow down. Though Apple's other businesses are still huge, much of its status as the most expensive company in the world depends on the handset business.
Keeping up growth in its iPhone sales will probably see it look to find more buyers in developing markets like India and to bring over those buyers who tend to focus on cheaper Android handsets.
It is looking to do those things by putting its new phone into a familiar package. The iPhone SE uses the 4-inch body of the iPhone 5s, but inside are most of the headline parts of the top-of-the-line iPhone 6s.
The company has managed to make the new phone its cheapest yet, presumably partly in an effort to attract buyers from developing and poorer markets. In the UK, the phone sells for £359 and most mobile networks are offering it on subsidized plans.
Just as with the iPhone SE, the new iPad Pro packs in all of the power of its bigger and more expensive sibling — the 12.9-inch iPad Pro — but into a familiar box, this time looking almost identical to the iPad Air 2.
Around the world, the new iPhone and iPad had quieter launches than the huge, overnight queues that greet the release of new flagship phones. The company has had quieter launches in recent years, including for the Apple Watch, apparently looking to encourage people to buy online rather than queuing up outside of its shops.

Tesla Model 3 pitched as an 'affordable' electric car

Tesla has unveiled its much-anticipated Model 3 electric car - its lowest-cost vehicle to date.
The company's chief executive Elon Musk said the five-seater would start at $35,000 (£24,423) and have a range of at least 215 miles (346km) per charge.
He added that his goal was to produce about 500,000 vehicles a year once production got up to full speed.
The California-based company needs the vehicle to prove popular if it is to stay in business.
The first deliveries of the vehicle are scheduled to start in late 2017, and it can be ordered in advance in dozens of countries, including the UK, Ireland, Brazil, India, China and New Zealand.
Tesla delivered 50,580 vehicles last year. Most of those were its Model S saloon, which overtook Nissan's Leaf to become the world's best selling pure-electric vehicle.

Big hoax: 'How to send WhatsApp messages without Internet'

new message on WhatsApp reads that your device supports ultra-light Wi-Fi technology and you won’t need an internet or data connection to run WhatsApp anymore.

Well, if you have read this message before, you know what we are talking about. If you haven’t, then you should know that this fake message is nothing but a cam by some malware developers.

What you can do with a bunch of ignorant newcomers in the technology world? Or, in short, what can you do with a bunch of new smartphone users? Well, make them earn for you! It’s true.

Welcome to the world of scammers, where you probably won’t need a virus or a malware anymore. All you need is a little intelligent thinking and some great words to trap those who are ignorant with new technology.

Gone are the days where a virus was meant to steal your data. Today, your private data may be important, but getting past the encryption of modern operating systems and software is difficult, but not impossible. And after hours of planning and developing codes that can break through your smartphone’s security, the hacker just gets some junk photos and useless phone numbers that probably won’t fetch him much in the black market. So what does he do? Simple—he makes you click on advertisements, make you make your friends click on advertisements, makes them do the same too and in return, earns big money from the ads themselves. No data stolen, but simple tricks to make people click on ads.

Curiosity 'always' kills the cat!

This is not a new trick in the hacker/scamsters book—it has been used for a while, but it still is pretty much successful. There are hundreds of messages which inform users that they are getting free money, free data or some free stuff, creating a huge curiosity. This leads the user to click on the message, which takes him through a series of pages which has advertisements. Clicking on each advertisement and page earns the hacker gain money from ad companies. He then makes you think that the message and the webpage are genuine by scraping the entire content from the original website. He then makes you click on a series of check boxes, enter your personal details and then pass the message on to a series of friends to become eligible to the offer. Lastly, to make sure you are a human and not a robot who is accepting the offer, he also makes you download a few apps and register to the said services. Once done, he says you will be able to get the offer.

In the bargain, he made you click on various advertisements and also made a copy of your personal information that ‘you’ gave him. He then also made you share the invitation to friends (who will witness the same treatment) who will think it is genuine as it came from a close ‘friend’. Lastly, he also made you swift through some pages and download a few apps which could be a bonus for him if they too contain a malware.

A similar fake message about enabling WhatsApp Calling was doing its rounds recently. That was the time when WhatsApp was testing the calling feature and you needed to be invited to get the voice calling enabled on your app.

Now the scene is a little different, but the scam is similar. Many don’t know what Facebook’s Free Basics is all about. Some even think that Mark Zuckerberg announced that the basic internet will be completely free to most people around the world. So using the internet for email, WhatsApp and similar serviced won’t be charged. But the scheme is yet to see light of day in India. Taking Facebook’s Free Basics planning into consideration, hackers are milking on the issue. You must know that Free Basics has been banned (for now) in India as net neutrality is a strong debate that is still a big controversy. So, free internet is still a myth in India; unless you are ripping off someone else’s data plan by using their Wi-Fi network.

About the new WhatsApp message scam, you should beware about the recent rounds it is taking. The new scam is an invitation to an internet-free WhatsApp messaging pl

REOUMER OF FREEDOM 251

New Delhi: In some respite to India's cheapest smartphone makers, the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday granted interim relief to Ringing Bells Pvt Ltd - the Noida-based firm that created a global buzz after announcing the launch of the controversial Rs 251 Freedom 251 smartphone last month.

While hearing the plea, the division bench of Justice BK Narayan and justice Shashi Kant ordered the UP state government to furnish a status report on an urgent basis by April 5, further directing that no coercive steps be taken till then against the three top accused - directors Mohit Goel and Dharna Garg and president Ashok Chadha.

Ringing Bells created a global buzz after launching an Android smartphone at Rs 251 .

A first information report (FIR) was registered last week against Goel and company president Ashok Chaddha under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as the Information Technology (IT) Act on a complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.

The court also directed the petitioners to submit their passports to SSP Noida within 24 hours.

According to lawyer Abhishek Vikram representing Ringing Bells, the three petitioners will "fully comply with the orders of the court by submitting their passport and will provide full cooperation to the investigation agency".

"We have nothing to hide. We are committed to affordable smartphones to people of this country and we shall achieve that. We will stick to fair practices and comply with regulations of our great country," Mohit Goel, director, Ringing Bells, told IANS.

"We remain committed to cooperate with any government agency that may need to inquire our organisation for any reason or suspicion. We have already done so with authorities/agencies that have so required," Goel added.

"I do maintain that we will deliver the most affordable quality products to our customers through our range of smartphones including 'Freedom 251'," Goel added.

Ringing Bells launched the product last month in the presence of veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi.

It distributed some "prototypes" of the product to the media which turned out to be Adcom handsets. However, the company maintained that the device has been developed "with immense support" from the government.

According to the company, 'Freedom 251' will run on Android 5.1 operating system and will sport a 4-inch qHD IPS display, a 3.2-megapixel primary and a 0.3-megapixel front camera.

However, doubts were raised after assessments of the viability of the handset found that such a device cannot be offered for less than Rs.2,300-2,400.

Ringing Bells had received 30,000 orders on the first day.

The rest of the customers for the first 25 lakh handsets were to be selected on first-come-first-served basis as the company received about seven crore registrations before the payment gateway crashed.

Later, the company decided to return the money to the customers who pre-booked the Rs.251 device on the first day of the sale.

The company said it planned to give 25 lakh handsets in the first phase before June 30.
